AnnouncementThe weekend of Friday, November 20, 2009 (starting at 6:00 PM) through the end of Sunday, November 22, 2009 the Office of Information & Technology will be performing maintenance on the District’s Microsoft Exchange Services.
During this period, there will be no access to Outlook or OWA for all mailboxes, with no exceptions. Incoming external mail will not be impacted and stored in your inbox until the outage is complete.
Every effort will be made to bring the servers back on line as soon as possible. If we do not complete the maintenance of Exchange, we run a significant risk that one or more Exchange servers will go down during regular business hours. Our backend operations and network are very stable and we must conduct regularly scheduled, preventive maintenance to offer this level of reliability.
Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions please email zz-trouble@pghboe.net.
About Microsoft OutlookMicrosoft Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, and is part of the Microsoft Office Suite. Although often used mainly as an e-mail application, it also provides a calendar, contacts, journal, notes, and tasks. Public folders are also an excellent feature that's utilized in our district.
Outlook Web Access (OWA) is a webmail service that uses a Web browser to access your Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox from any computer with an Internet connection. The web interface of Outlook Web Access resembles the interface in Microsoft Outlook. OWA can be accessed by clicking on the following link OWA.
