2010-11 School Year Magnet School Information

The deadline to be included in the 2010-11 magnet lottery, for all programs, closed December 12th at noon. Any application received after that time will be honored at post registration, which will begin in January, on a first come first serve basis.

Information on this site is all about the programs available for the 2010-11 School Year.
Magnet schools and programs allow students to pursue special interests, talents or career goals. Magnets can enroll students who reside in various attendance areas in the Pittsburgh Public School District.
The 2010-11 Offerings and Options Guide includes descriptions of the choices in the Pittsburgh Public Schools for the 2010–2011 school year. We encourage you to read this booklet carefully before completing an application.
2010-11 Magnet Lottery
Applications will be taken for the Magnet Lottery through December 12, 2009. The deadline has closed for the lottery for the 2010-11 school year.

2010-11 Lottery Notification
Letters letting students and families know about whether they were selected for one of their programs through the lottery will be mailed the week of January 12th, 2010. If you applied by December 12th, 2009, and you have not received your letter by January 20, 2010, please call the Parent Hotline at 412-622-7920.
2010-11 CAPA Audition Notification
CAPA 6-12 letters will be mailed no later than December 15, 2009. Students accepted into CAPA will be withdrawn from the general lottery that will occur on December 19, 2010.
