Enrollment figures may change based on student transfers and new registrations. At the beginning of the school year, enrollment data may be less accurate until the official state recognized membership date (20 days after the start of school). Quick Facts: Our mission at Pittsburgh Murray PreK-8 is to work collaboratively with families and community partners to create a safe, clean and nurturing learning environment. Every student in Pittsburgh Murray PreK-8 has homework every night, Monday through Thursday evenings. The homework assignments are designed to provide extra practice for concepts taught in class. It is our goal that every child is proficient in reading at their appropriate grade level. Every child has a goal of reading no less than 25 books which are age- and grade-level appropriate during the school year. We also encourage all parents to provide many opportunities for their children to read. Each month, Pittsburgh Murray PreK-8 will select a book that the entire school will read. Each book will feature an important message that will help us to build character.

Parent/Family Involvement: Parents are an important part of the educational experience, and all help is appreciated. We encourage every parent to participate in the PTO.   Each month, a calendar of events is prepared so parents can be aware of special activities at school. A Parent Newsletter is published quarterly and sent home to keep parents/guardians up-to-date on current events. Other notices about special events and field trips are also sent home with students.   Conference days are conducted throughout the school year as the need arises.   More information is available in the School Handbook and in the Parent & Family Involvement section of the District website.
