Magnet Applications & Registration

 

Magnet Lottery Update:  The magnet lottery application window is now closed for the 2017-2018 school year.  The magnet lottery will run in early January with announcement letters and wait list placements sent by the end of January.  Please contact our Magnet Office with any questions.
 
We are currently accepting post-lottery magnet application for the 2017 – 2018 school year. Students may apply for enrollment in to magnet programs with remaining vacancies, or to be added to existing waiting lists. More information about available program spaces will be shared here after the magnet lottery has taken place.  

 
The Annual Offerings and Options Guide includes a thorough overview of the magnet application process, as well as descriptions of all of the choices in the Pittsburgh Public Schools for the 2017-18 school year.

Magnet Applications:

Current Pittsburgh Public Schools Students

All students who are currently enrolled in Pittsburgh Public Schools are required to submit a magnet application to be considered for the program(s) of their choice. 

Students New to Pittsburgh Public Schools:

 
All students who are enrolling into the district, at any grade level, are required to submit a copy of the
following documentation, which all must be present at the time of enrollment or application to a magnet program:
 

1. Proof of Child's Age (1 of the following)

  • Birth certificate/notarized copy
  • School record
  • Religious record/notarized copy of a religious record (i.e. baptismal certificate)
  • Hospital record
  • Passport
  • Notarized statement from parent/guardian

2. Current Proof of Residency (2 of the following)

  • Tax statement
  • Utility bill
  • Voter's registration card
  • Credit card statement
  • Drivers licensure/state ID
  • Mortgage statement
  • Lead (signed and notarized)
  • Bank statement
  • Vehicle registration
  • Social security letter/document
  • Official public assistance letter document
  • Other

3. Immunization Records with Dates (1 of the following)

  • Immunization records from their doctor or a medical office
  • School health records
  • Written statement or verbal assurance from the former school district, with records to follow
  • International Health Certificate

4. Most Recent Final Report Card or Transcript if your Child is Applying to Allderdice, Brashear
or Obama
