CAPA Students Applying to Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School (CAPA)

Important Facts:

  • There is NO LOTTERY for Pittsburgh CAPA, all children are admitted through an audition process.
  • You must list CAPA as your first choice on your application.
  • No late applications are accepted.
  • No child is admitted without completing an audition.  

Applying to Pittsburgh CAPA involves four distinct parts--all of which are required to be considered for admission.

The process requires that all applicants:
1) Submit the general application to the Magnet Office no later than October 25, 2013 by 5pm;
2) Submit an essay, declaration of art form, and a letter of recommendation to Pittsburgh CAPA. Click here for more info.

 NOTE: Any student who is new to the district must supply enrollment information along with the application, which  consists of a birth certificate, complete shot records, and two proofs of residency. If you do not submit the appropriate materials for your child, their application will not be considered. These materials are necessary to enroll your child into the system and a magnet application cannot be entered without them.
