Pittsburgh Public Schools has a long-standing history of implementing successful early childhood programs that effectively foster the educational, nutritional, health/mental, social/emotional, and physical development of all children, including those with special needs.
We provide children, ages birth to five, with comprehensive programming designed to reinforce and respond to the unique strengths and needs of the individual child. Supportive learning environments are fostered to stimulate a child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Connections are cultivated with families to encourage positive relationships and build opportunities for strong parent engagement and participation. Community partnerships are formed to establish a core network of support services and resources for children and families.
Our goal is to equip children with the necessary educational tools and social skills to provide a seamless transition to kindergarten and beyond.
Most Early Childhood Programs are available at no cost to Pittsburgh residents in various neighborhoods across the City.
