April Ryan, a White House correspondent who has been covering presidents for 20 years, starting with the Clinton era will be in Pittsburgh to talk about race, politics and the Trump administration. 
She will be speaking at the Obama Academy on Wednesday, May 24th.  We encourage anyone with an interest in politics, history, or the world in general to attend.

The PTSA is organizing an event to honor Dr. Walters' contributions to the Obama Academy - so please mark your calendars. 

Our program will be held at the Obama Academy on
Tuesday, May 23rd 
6:30-8:00 p.m. 
Many people spoke eloquently about Dr. Walters' impact on the school at our last PTSA meeting. We are hoping we can harness some of that passion to help us plan this event! We need help with organizing speakers, arranging refreshments, planning the program, etc. If you're interested, please contact us at our email address

 Obama Drama Is At It Again.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Obama Academy's Sister Act, who walked away with 9 Gene Kelly Award Nominations.  They will be performing on the Benedum Stage at the awards ceremony on May 27.
